our founder, tejas, found it difficult to cultivate a sense of ikigai working in tech and consulting. inspired by the japanese term for "reason for being" or "purpose", startery began as a side project while tejas was a management consultant. he believed rather than working a single role during one's nine-to-five, the work day could look much more fulfilling - where one can have multiple gigs from multiple startups, that each tick an individual aspect of ikigai - what they're good at, what they love to do, what they can be paid for, and what's great for society. that way, they can go to bed feeling fulfilled and wake up the next day empowered to continue cultivating their ikigai.
